Book Specimen Project
The Book Specimen Project emerged as a captivating endeavor within the literary landscape to explore the anatomy of books as cultural artifacts. Through analysis, discovery, and exploration of the rich typography specimens, I first discovered the font in the “New Yorker,” which inspired me to dive deep into the typeface even further. First, I explored the history of “Bookmania,” then the weights, glyphs, and symbols. I then showcased products that demonstrate the use of the typeface. Lastly, I created my mock-ups with the font, reflecting the overall theme of New York City. Throughout the process, the Book Specimen Project served as a testament to the enduring power of books to inspire, enlighten, and connect us across time and space.
